Officers' Quarters 5
Officers' Quarters 5 was also one of the original five structures completed by March 1, 1870. This structure is of the same physical form and style as Officer's Quarters 2, 4, and 5.
After abandonment the building was acquired by a private citizen. Around 1917, the second story was removed due to weakness and cracks. The new owners also put in new floors and added two rooms and a garage. The City of San Angelo bought the house in 1971. By 1980, the structure was in a state that could present a danger to the public. Accordingly, Quarters 5 was reduced to a ruin and stabilized.
